1.1 - Workbooks, worksheets & cells - "ByDoing" Exercise

"ByDoing" Exercise Objectives:

Gain familiarity with the difference between a "Workbook", "Worksheets" and "Cells" within Microsoft Excel by creating a new file.

Instructions:

  • Open up Microsoft Excel and create a new workbook that has the name "MyFirstWorkbook.xlsx"
  • Locate where this new file was put on your computer using your file explorer
  • Rename your new workbook to "MyFirstWorkbook_modified" using your file explorer
  • Open up "MyFirstWorkbook_modified" within Microsoft Excel
  • Create a new worksheet called "MyFirstWorksheet" or rename "Sheet1" to "MyFirstWorksheet"
  • Within your new worksheet, type "The address of this cell is A1" in the to left most cell in your new worksheet and press enter to end editing the cell.
